After beating a team from Vancouver, Washington for the 2004 Invitational Regional Championship and returning to the championship game in 2005, I decided to end my 14 coaching career. After all, I had won 68% of all my games, made the playoffs all but 2 years and just completed back-to-back trips to the championship game.
I walked away to accomplish some personal goals I had set for myself, but like a famous quote says, “Every time I try to get out, they just pull me back in.” So after missing the 2006 season, I came back to coach the Jr. Midgets.
2007 was challenging due to the program moving home sites, a low number of participants, injuries, and a host of other issues. Nevertheless, our team was in 1st place mid-season and made the playoffs. We didn’t get deep into the playoffs, but our young team grew up and accomplished great things in 2007.
I’m looking forward to the 2008 season and am ready to prepare for another run into the playoffs. So I welcome all who are ready to put in some hard work, learn the game of football, and have some fun.
